The Comet's Tale Inn

The Comet's Tale Inn & Tavern started off from humble beginnings. In a time not far in the past, the Viramontes family made their claim to a plot of land near the coast of the Stardust Sea, located south of Tuliyollal, to the east of Kozama'uka, and north of Yak T'el. The name 'comet's tale' is a nod to the ancient crater in which Yak T'el rests in. Seeing how their land was to the north of that, they thought of the Stardust Sea as their muse, and named the land the 'Comet's Tail.' Once a farm and homestead, it now serves a double purpose. It has been taken over by the Starcrest family, with Aster Starcrest manning the helm and running a true Adventurers' Guild based out of Tural, wholely unaffiliated with the Companies of Eorzea or any other derivatives. It is served by adventurers, for adventurers. The other purpose of the Comet's Tale is to provide a safe place to rest for any weary travelers. It hosts ample rooms and suites, live entertainment, fresh food and drink, jobs for those willing and needing, a free clinic, baths, and much, much more.

❝Aster Starcrest ❞

Aster Starcrest is the current owner of the Comet's Tale Inn & Tavern.
A person born from Turali lineage far from the shores of his parents' homeland, he wandered and adventured for over a decade before coming to Tural and reconnecting with his past. His father and family have entrusted the lands of the former Comet's Tail to him, and it is he who does all the major accounting, book-keeping and financing for the Comet's Tale Inn.When he is not attending to the administrative duties of the Inn, he is seen in the kitchens with Septimus, helping his husband Dorian with practicing for a performance, or sorting information on jobs with his beloved Cyrus. He's also quite the accomplished drinksmith, and loves to tell a tale.

❝ Dorian Starcrest ❞

Dorian Starcrest is a man with quite the storied past, one he is not likely to share unless you can entertain him with a tale of your own.
Trained in the performing arts from a young age, the Miqo'te with Corvosi heritage has amassed quite the repertoire of skills under his belt. From singing, to dancing, to the manipulation of the heartstrings with just a single glance, he's an expert at what he does.
When the star fell into peril during the Final Days, he did not hesitate to throw all his performances to the side in order to help those in need, but now that things have calmed down, he's decided to take to the stage again, this time not only as a performer and bartender, but as the head of the Comet's Tale Inn's entertainment sector. Working alongside talented individuals from across the star is an honor he is all too happy to have.

❝ Cyrus Starcrest ❞

Cyrus Starcrest, a man of Ala Mhigan descent born in Dravania, once had the distinguished privilege of serving for the Knights Dragoon before an injury saw him bereft of station. While he took to being a therapist rather well shortly after, he could not resist the clarion call of adventure. Meeting Aster was the catalyst for his rehabilitation, and now that his wounds have healed and he has spent the greater part of a decade traveling with his two now-husbands, he has sworn himself to the betterment of the star and her peoples. He takes up the mantle of Huntsmaster of the Comet's Tale Inn, gathering information on anyone and any place in need of help. From rebuilding efforts to monster-culling to proper monster hunts all their own, Cyrus has dedicated himself to the cause fully. Be it with a sanctioned job posting, or with his own blades, he will see the troubles handled.

❝ Septimus Lervantus ❞

Septimus is a Garlean ex-patriate who left his home at a young age to pursue the gastronomic and culinary arts. Fascinated from a young age by the myriad flavors introduced to him by his family's maids, he struck out to create and experience flavors all their own from all across the star. From Thavnair, to Eorzea proper, to the lands of the Northern Empty, to the South Sea Isles, there is not a dish that 'Tim' won't try, and even fewer are the ones that he won't cook. An accomplished chef with a penchant for cooking with love of the food, love of the art, and love of the people whose lands the dishes hail from, he mans the kitchens with an iron grip! Or so people like to say, but the large Garlean is as stern as a soft-boiled egg with a smile like maple sugar. No one goes hungry on his watch.

❝ Luca Amhari ❞

Luca Amhari is the current owner and head of the Amhari Mercantile Company of Tural, a Pelupelu-established merchants' guild that operates across the star, bringing wares from beyond Tural's borders into her purview, and vice-versa. While the Elezen man was not born to Pelupelu, he considers his adopted family his greatest treasure, and works tirelessly to make them proud as a merchant, standing for the core tenets of Pelupelu trade. He has signed a contract with the Comet's Tale Inn to provide goods at a fair and reasonable cost that is mutually beneficial to both parties, and, of course, he gets to enjoy a drink and a song whenever he pleases.
What's not to like about that?

Alongside all our specialty drinks, the Comet's Tale Inn also serves the standard drinks one would find at any other establishment, as well as mocktail (non-alcoholic) versions of all their drinks, including their signature specials.Simple bar food is available upon request, and any allergies or special dietary restrictions will be adhered to at the highest level of care by all members of staff.
(OOC: Moscow Mules, martinis, mojitos, shots, fries, tenders, burgers, etc. Just ask!)For those of you looking for a more luxurious dining experience, the Comet's Tale Inn does do fine dining, and are rather fond of putting in the work for a good meal should it be requested!Do not be shy about requesting any meals!The menu is also incredibly versatile and changes often. You can expect quite the number of themed nights, ranging from mezcal tastings to spice level challenges all the way through to unique cultural experiences based on regions of the world, depending on the night.

A carefully curated blend of fruits suspended within the drink itself make this an incredibly hydrating and refreshing experience for anyone who orders it.

Turali Sunset

A chilly blue drink that's sure to cool down anyone who drinks it, with pops of color from the cherries and pineapple used as garnish. This drink is the perfect mixture of ice and liquor that dances on your tongue and promises a good time, despite the rather odd name.

Snake Milk

A delicious and refreshing drink, the Daylight cocktail offers the perfect balance of tart and sweet. Made with dry gin, Ishgardian wine, elderflower liqueur, and a whole heap of citrus, this elegant, refined and tasteful cocktail makes for a tasty sip all year long. It is rumored to be the favorite of many a maiden across the star, a true testament to the unifying power of good food and greater drink.

Daylight

The Skyruin is a drink that dates back to the older ages of Tural, a drink that's been made popular time and again for its simplicity and ability to knock someone on their ass. That said, a certain merchant guild leader has been known to make his own extravagant form of this drink. It is this merchant who brought us the recipe and asked - no, demanded - that it be served in glasses adorned with winged serpent imagery and only the finest liqueurs found across Tural.

❝ All throughout my childhood, I heard tales of the Skyruin, Valigarmanda. How it burned the peaks of Urqopacha, and brought chaos with its storms. Saw it up close once myself. As a kid, it scared me, but now that it's gone, I felt it right to immortalize such a force of nature into a smooth, triple threat of a drink. ❞

Myths of the realm

A flight of twelve cocktails based off the Twelve deities of Eorzean faith.Each drink poses a different challenge. Some drinks are light, airy and refreshing, some are herbal and sweet, some are absolutely fiery, and some are just... Well, they live up to their namesakes. You must complete the challenge within the time frame alloted to you. The Dawnservant's Trials

The Contest for the title of Dawnservant has come to a close.Vow Wuk Lamat and Vow Koana now hold the respective titles of Vow of Resolve and Vow of Reason, and their guiding leadership is a thing of inspiration and awe in equal measure. Knights of the Round

Long ago, in a shard far, far away, existed a kingdom known as Durandal.
Its inhabitants were a proud, strong people, and its knights from the fourteen houses even fiercer. They lived in unison to the royal family of the neighboring kingdom of Almateria, and pledged fourteen of their finest knights to the defense of their joint realm.
This challenge honors those mythical fourteen heroes, with a feast fit for royalty.
From spiced dishes hailing from the fabled lands' southern borders, or overtly tart confections meant to test your sweet tooth, there is something here for those who wish to ascend to knighthood.If you believe yourself worthy, then rise up, valiant hero, and prove your mettle... With your gut!

The Warring Triad

Many have heard tale of the three mighty deities worshipped by the myriad tribes of Meracydia's lands.
Sephirot, the Fiend, worshipped by a race of treelike beings. The first pillar of the devastating trio.
Sophia, The Goddess, she who graced the souls of her worshipers with perfect equilibrium, binding dissonance into harmony in gilded chains.
Zurvan, the Demon, worshiped by centaurs, he who embodies eternal victory on crimson wings.One primal-sized course for each deity, three courses total, embodying their divinity in full. Vegan dishes for Sephirot and his might, a perfectly balanced meal for Sophia and her equilibrium, and a viciously spicy meal to herald the coming of your victory, on wings much like Zurvan's own.Can you tame their might? Test your iron will (and stomach) with this challenge!

Mechanical Rroneek Ride

Rroneek are a powerful, ancient and storied creature, beloved by the many peoples of Shaaloani.They are the heralds of change, they are beasts of burden, and they are dear friends to all who would learn their ways. While we at the Comet's Tale Inn would never condone putting a rroneek into our establishment as a source of entertainment, we can commission a mechanical rroneek be made in its stead! No rroneeks are harmed, they remain free as they ever should be, and we get a fancy new challenge out of it!Designed by Clay Ryder of the Usdi'wahya Ranch, this rroneek ride is accurate to the tossing and turning of a raging rroneek, and promises to be a fun time! It was carefully crafted by Marco Abellan, a forgemaster and mechanic of Shaaloani, and we can guarantee your safety when riding this machine!*(Please do still sign our waiver, though.)

Queen's Blood

Maybe you're less the rroneek-riding sort and more the lucky sort. If that's the case, we have the challenge for you - Queen's Blood!While the name hearkens to a long-forgotten tale, this is one game we hope you won't forget! Add your name to a lot via a gil donation and, if you're lucky, you'll earn the whole pot! All you need to do is draw the Queen of Hearts from a deck of 52!50,000 gil per ticket.* Limit of 5 tickets per patron per night. Each ticket enters you into a raffle to draw. If no one lucks out that week, the pot rolls over into the next week's raffle until there's a winner!(OOC: Gil per ticket is OOC money.)
